What its like reading all 8 books
Reading all 8 books was a massive accomplishment for me. I managed this as I do not have a life and spent most of my time reading. This was easy for me as a book worm. My main reason for doing this was because I now have the ability to annoy and brag to my friends. Overall, it was a good experience. My favourite one was the Stars at Oktober Bend because I have weird taste in books. My least favourite one was Beck because it was boring and should be destroyed. -Maddie

I AM A TEEN NOW!!!! I am really enjoying this years Carnegie. Lydia is not very happy about the books. here is a quote from her "I only read books that get me interested, this year's books are pretty boring... well the ones I have read are." phoebe is creating life right now. (that is what she said anyway) she is now eating fruit like a healthy human. she has dropped her grape. it was in her mouth but it rolled out. tears drool down her face. goodbye and farewell fellow human beans... wait... are YOU a human?!!! I am not... just saying.

a day in space
books we read? We read sputnik and the smell of other peoples houses.sputnik is really cool because it is funny because every one thinks sputnik is a dog a keeps saying that he is a good boy when only prez can see him as a boy and they have to save earth as well as prez grandad by Elizabeth.

Difficult times
Today we took a look at all the social issues that are present both in society to day and in the books that we are reading... Learning that a shortlisted book has never been authored by someone from an ethic minority has really put the books we are reading into a new light, and looking at the themes other people have inferred from the books this year have widened our perspectives on the stories and situations that we have read. This has been an experience in understanding how themes are a constant, and that people have to put up with too many prejudices Bloggers till the end - Phoebe and Rhian

Some of the books we read you go in the adventure with the main characters in the book. The books are awesome! Sputnik and his guide to life on Earth is cool because it is so halarious because everyone but Prez sees him as adog!

Before Half- term antics
So... it's the week before half term and everyone is super hyped. All of us are wrestling over the books trying to get the ones we want, then sit back for the week indulging in them. Again walking around the room there have been some rather.. interesting debates over some of the books this year (me and Mrs Ives again having a debate over Railhead- I love it, she hates it :) ) Everyone keep reading and enjoy the half- term shoving your face in a book Rhian- the long-lasting Carnegie Reader

We're all mad here!
Laughter, one of the most common thing to hear here. I love the delicious goods that the teachers provide for us. The books are amazing some loving and sad, but overs deceitful and angering. For instance wolf hollow it was so loving and angering that is why I love it.

Read your heart out
On Tuesday we go to our loved LRC for a hell of a time Carnegie. Where we have a chilled time enjoying a book, talking about what we loved and what we hated, it was very interesting. WAIT did I forget to mention, the CAKE... and fruit. Bye! Mollie, Tanya, Ashlyn.

New Reviews
Some of the books this year are very 'you either love them, or you hate them'. So far we found that with Railhead and Sputnick, with the group mostly divided down the middle for both. Some saying Railhead was too hard to get into - others saying Suptnick was too young for this group. A good debate is what we started - and it's what we're getting. We look forward to more and more debates as we get closer to the voting date! ~~~Forever Reading

Another Day, Another Book Gone By
Another Carnegie day comes to an end, and we are all full on the fruit and cakes and wonderful worlds that these books have given us. We look to next week, where, once again, we rejoice in sharing the experience of what world we will delve deep into. I'm looking forward to diving into Railhead and finding out what is awaiting me on the other side of the cover. ~Forever reader ~ Phoebe

More Books,More Reading. Most Fun
The books this year are most definitely... interesting to say the least. Some of the ones which I have read- Beck and Stars at Oktober Bend- couldn't be so contrasting. All of us are certainly going to have some intriguing conversations and voicing our opinions while stuffing our faces with sugar and fruit. What could be more fun :) From Rhian

Exam Stuggles 101
What's worse than doing exams? REVISING! Life pretty much sucks right now for anyone who's preparing for the dreaded exam season, but we have amazing books on hand to help us through these tough times. An example of a intriguing book is 'Salt To The Sea' which makes any reader feel gripped by the intense and thrilling story, it's books like these that give us that escape from this harrowing, exam filled period of time for young people. Just remember no matter how stressed your life is, you always have these amazing books to delve into. -Alex S and Sophie W

A Ponder (about reading, obviously)
I've been wondering, I've probably spent about half my life reading, right? Well they say that about sleeping and if I've spent hours into the depths of the night wide awake turning the pages over and over and over... Then I've probably spent over half of my life in a completely different universe. How cool is that? That I haven't been on Earth for half of my life. I might as well just be an astronaut. NASA, I'm coming for you! ~Maisy (probably the best ponderer in the world)

Welcome Readers!
Welcome back readers to another year of Carnegie! There are a lot of great books to read this year like "The Smell of other people's houses". It is an amazing book that should, in my opinion, win and be enjoyed by all! Emmeline
