Interpreting a Picture Book
At our third meeting we found out how tricky it can be to hold a book backwards to yourself and read it sensibly to others even if it is nonsense. We are discovering what bits of the pictures are important and how the language holds hidden meaning that our voices can reveal. Now we're taking the Greenaway books home to practice reading aloud to the mirror, our pillows, the cat, or any willing audience we can find. Soon we will be reading to our key stage two classes.
