Lucy and Callum are too busy eating crisps to be able to tell me much about "Midwinterblood" and "Wonder". Where's everyone else? Lucy reckons there'll be no crisps left soon...

So the challenge has been made. The shadowers need to write an article for the school magazine to say what they enjoy about being a Carnegie shadower. Not only am I looking forward to reading their work, but I'm loooking forward to giving out lots of edible prizes...

And we're off
Looking forward to a great shadowing process this year with lots of lovely keen readers from Years 7 & 8.

Our group voted last week (see barometer). Most were very excited today to find out who/which was the winner. I am delighted that it's Ness - it was far and away my favourite and a great surprise as I thought it wouldn't win because it wasn't "stand alone-enough". I am also pleased as punch that about half the group are keen to carry on after their shadowing experience as a reading group. All in all, a success.

We only have 2 meetings left
No time this week as unfortunately exams have to take priority. We will meet after half term for our secret ballot and then on the day of the awards to see who agrees with the judges.

Tori's blog
We are all very busy here, with Carnegie reading and munching away during our meetings on whatever treat Ms. Dickens has cooked! Some of us are reading for hours on end whilst others are managing to squeeze in 10 minutes at a time.

Feeling rather bereft...
What a shame - all my Carnegie reading is done. I now know which book gets my vote though!

Cerys' blog
I think that shadowing the Carnegie Awards has helped me to not just read the same type of book genre but to read different ones that I might enjoy. It has also helped me to ask authors questions that could help me with my writing in the future!"

Two meetings today - poor turn out, but we had yummy muffins... losers! End of year tests looming (eek) so books will be handy to help us chill! Keep reading everyone!

Early days....
We are in the process of setting up our group. Names are being put forward and the hard part will be whittling them down to a manageable group size. Looking forward to getting underway!
