Bebington High Sport's College
Bebington,

In Darkness- Adam Curran
This book is alright to end with however it's quite confusing at the beginning. It's about a boy called Shorty who lives in Haiti with his family as slaves, during Shorty's life a group of Chimeres appear who kill Shorty's papa Legba and take his sister Marguerite away from him and his mother. Throughout the story Shorty plans on finding the group that kidnapped Marguerite and getting her back with the whole family, he also sees visions of a man named Toussaint known as the man who freed the blacks which help Shorty to discover who he is inside. Although I didn't understand what it was about from the beginning I managed to get the idea to what it was about when I got to the center of the story, I had also been given the idea that this book was made in a diary entry because it contained information about what happened now and then. Overall I would rate this book 6/10.

Dead Time Adam Curran
This is a really good book: I understand what it's all about, there's been an increase in intention and best of all it helps the reader to come up with a suggestion for what is going to happen next as they read through it. There may be a slight bit of violence shown in this however it is very emotional which is what I love about reading, it gives you the sort of emotion that makes you feel happy with yourself for who you are.

Skullduggery Pleasant Death Bringer- Adam Curran
I have now finished the book and I feel that this book is too violent, gory and very uncomfortable for me to read. This is because it contains a few supernaturals that make me uncomfortable such as vampires. I wouldn't recommend this book to be on the carnegie because other readers would find it to be gothic and just wouldn't continue reading on.

Skullduggery Pleasant death bringer Adam Curran
I have now got up to chapter 37 on page 375 where Valkyrie Cain and Skullduggery Pleasant have a conversation with Tenebrae who is the high priest of the Necromancers; however as the conversation gets interesting Tenebrae reveals the secret of Lord Vile living inside Skullduggery which puts Valkyrie into a deep shock. Afterwards Tenebrae leaves the cell to go off to talk to Melancholia the death bringer and the 2 prisoners manage to escape from the cell, later on they run into Melancholia and end up fighting her; unfortunately the spirit of Lord Vile appears in front of the death bringer and tries to kill her. The 2 prisoners Valkyrie and Skullduggery get rid of Vile and escape from the temple with a few sanctuary agents. Later on Valkyrie decides that she doesn't want to carry on searching for the death bringer and so she goes back to her normal life. Meanwhile Fletcher calls as he is worried about Valkyrie and then shows up in her bedroom to talk, as Valkyrie closes the door Fletcher speaks; at the matter of time Valkyrie breaks up with him and heads out of her window. When all is lost for Valkyrie she visits her uncle Gordon's house to talk about bits of business for saving the world and the problems she has had so far.

Skullduggery Pleasant Death Bringer Adam Curran
I have now managed to get up to chapter 29 on page 294. The last time I read off on was where Valkyrie had called Fletcher for help, later on from that she managed to get better and had been told to have a bit of a sleep in Skullduggery's house, meanwhile 2 zombies who are known as Thrasher and Vaurien Scapegrace run into a girl called Clarabelle who is finding a job at a sanctuary and they escort her there so Scapegrace can ask Dr Nye to make him human again. Scapegrace is the Zombie King who wants to be a human again rather than a zombie; things don't go as planned as Scapegrace gets rejected from being granted that wish; however Clarabelle manages to get the job for becoming Dr Nye's assistant. As Skullduggery Pleasant and Valkyrie Cain are searching for the arresting of Melancholia they receive a call about Dragonclaw in the airport so they head to the airport and manage to capture him. After that Dragonclaw reveals a secret about a hidden tunnel so he takes them there, tells them what they have to do and ends up getting hit down the stairs unconsciously; however Skullduggery and Valkyrie get caught by an alarm and end up shackled against the wall.

Skullduggery Pleasant Adam Curran
So far in this book I have reached up to page 159 on chapter 16. It begins with a baby being born who is called Alice and is Valkyrie's baby sister, Valkyrie has her own partner who is called Fletcher and they tend to have a great relationship. Later on Valkyrie and Skullduggery end up investigating the death of a woman in a house that is in the middle of nowhere, this is where they come to the conclusion that the death bringer is coming; however they are stopped by the Jitter girls. They head to a ministry to have a meeting with the sorcerers and they are told to head into a house in a graveyard where a man called Dragonclaw is involved in helping the death bringer; but after chasing him out of the graveyard they come across a warlock who tries to kill them. Although they both get beaten down a few times the warlock eventually gets defeated. Afterwards Valkyrie gets told to babysit Alice and later on Melancholia shows up to give Valkyrie as much pain as she can take, Valkyrie lies on the ground on a cliff where she is bleeding and then she calls Fletcher for help.

Between shades of gray by jack
I am very interested in war stories so when I had that there was a story I was made up; however the story dragged on and was only a small part romance. Usually I can deal with these types of stories but knowing that these things happened to people just made me stop therefore I didn't finish the book.

"Hidden" by Adam Curran
"Hidden" is about a 14 year old boy called Alix whose life is very boring on Hayling Island, his mother is ill and has a sore leg so she can't go into work and his dad has left her. Alix finds out about a new kid in school called Samir who gets called names all because he is from Iraq; he ends up in making friends with Samir and a helpless man lost at sea changes their lives. I thought that this was a good book because it was quite interesting to read but there were a few grammatical errors on it, after reading this book I have decided on giving it a 6/10.

The Devil Walks Adam Curran
This was a good book and I understood why it was called that. There was a bit of foreshadowing in the book because Daniel had a feeling that later on he would be in danger after his mother dies. There were a few mistakes such as the repeating of the word "was" for every sentence the author used it for and I think that the author could've thought of a better title than "The Devil Walks".

shadow by Jack
I have found this book very interesting, it had a good storyline and the author has definitely made the story come to life with the pictures and the language that he uses however the story did go on for a bit and I found it confusing that the chapters flitted between characters making it hard to concentrate on the story(after reading so many lines you then realise that the chapter has moved onto another person which makes the story a bit harder to follow) overall I would have to give the book a 7/10

Shadow By Jordan Reynolds
I think that this is a brilliant book as it shows the views of three people, one being Matt, another being the Granpa and the final being Aman. this is about the war in afghanistan and how aman and his mother have to leave their home due to the taliban

The Dead Of Winter Adam Curran
This is a really good book and the reasons for it being so good are because I understand what it's about and why the author has made the title look scary, It's become so interesting to me that I couldn't keep my eyes off it and I wanted to read it further to understand what would happen next. The reason for why it is called "The Dead of winter" is because the house that Michael Vyner is moving into is a house that the ghost of Sir Stephen's wife who is now dead is wandering around; Michael knows that there is a hidden secret in the house he hasn't been told of and he wants to find out what that secret is.

Treason by jack
So far I have found this book very intersting because it makes you put yourself into the position of the people in those times and it makes you want to read on because you want to know what happens and if anything exciting will come into the story. This story is gripping and makes you want to read on; I can't wait to see what happens later, because at the moment it is gripping but I am unsure of what will happen. but finally after reading 265 pages i feel that it was a good story but I expected to have a better ending. I was a bit disappointed to find that I had to read around 210 pages for it to get to the climax. overall I would give this book a 5/10.

The Dead Of Winter, What it's about?
The Dead Of Winter is a terrible story about someone called Michael Vyner and in it he notices that his parents are dead and he imagines that he will stay with the kind lawyer, executor of his parents' will ... Until he is invited to spend christmas with his guardian in a large and desolate country house.

The death Defying Pepper Roux by Adam Curran
The book was ok at the beginning and it was very well structured however there were a few mistakes made in the book such as using the word "was" twice before continuing and it just doesn't make sense everytime it does that, other than that it is still fun for the reader to keep going through the book without getting bored.

Death Defying Pepper Roux
Out Of all the books this has got to be the most Boring Book i have EVER read, The Book Is Basically About a Boy who Is Going to die in 14 hours, Not sure why, But he decides that he will try to go sailing and invite danger all the time to try and escape his fate. It was too confusing Pretty Boring. Basically I would NOT recommend this book to ANYONE.

Prisoner of the Inquisition
What a brilliant book. The mood was set. There was drama, passion and a sneaky history lesson. The characters and the plot were believable and I think that must have been difficult to achieve as one is a boy and one a girl but achieve it Ms Breslin did! This is such a good book so far, the chapters are short and snappy and the storyline has a brilliant flow and it is good how the story switches between 2 different people.

What's Pepper Roux all about?
I was bamboozled by the pace and the crazy ideas. Maybe I'm not imaginative enough for this book but it just wasn't for me.
