Hatfield Library Visits
A great big "thank you" to Hatfield Library for letting our Year 3 and Year 9 students spend the morning or afternoon, playing games, reading, singing and voting for our favourite Greenaway shortlisted book.

Primary Schools Visted
Our Year 9 students have now visited all our Primary schools and shared the shortlisted books with them and left copies with each class. Favourites are appearing already.

2017 The Greenaway Shadowing Project Starts Here
The shortlisted books for the Greenaway shadowing Project has arrived. Looking forward to sharing the books with our Year 3 pupils from our feeder schools. Let the fun begin.

Kirk Sandall Junior School Visit
Today we had an activity day with Kirk Sandall Junior School. This morning our Year 9 and Year 3 pupils took part in a dance workshop, which was based on Captain Jack and the Pirates, everyone was amazing on a very hot summers day. After lunch we settled down in the library to try and cool off and wrote our book reviews and designed our front covers for the shortlisted books. All of this work will be entered into our competition for best book review and front cover. Prizes will be awarded at our final event on Monday 20th June.

Canon Popham C of E School Visit Today!!
Today our Year 9 students are working with Year 3 pupils from Canon Popham C of E School. This morning we will be taking part in an art workshop based around the shortlisted book Captain Jack and the Pirates. All of the work will make up the back drop for our final celebration on the 29th June. this afternoon we will be in the Library writing book reviews to be posted on the web page and designing our own front covers.

Dunsville Primary Visit Hungerhill School, 12th May 2016
Today our year 3 students are joining with eight of our year 9 students for an activity day based on "Captain Jack and the Pirates" This morning we will work in the drama studio and this afternoon we will be working in the library, writing our reviews.

Dunsville Primary Visit Hungerhill School
Today Monday 1st June 2015 one of our feeder schools are coming to visit for the day. In the morning we will be doing a dance workshop based on the book "Smelly Louie" everyone is looking forward to the workshop. We will be spending the afternoon in the Library writing book reveiws, designing our very own front covers and having story time. For storytime this year we are using one of the shortlisted books from last year. Look out for our reviews!!!!!

Canon Popham School Visit Hungerhill School
Monday 11th May 2015 Today Our year 3's from Canon Popham visited Hungerhill School for the day. In the morning we did a drama workshop based on Smelly Louie. We did lots of drama exercises and then we did a mini play based on the characters Louie visit to retrieve his smell. Everyone had a good time. At break time we went to the Library and had juice and biscuits and at lunch break we played outside then had our packed lunches. The sun shone for us. In the afternoon we wrote book reviews in the library and posted them to the Kate Greenaway web page.

Shortlist books not received :(
We are all so dissapointed. Our books have not arrived so we were not able to visit our first primary school today.

Edenthorpe Hall Primary
Thursday 19th March is our first visit to our first Primary School. At the present time we are still waiting for our packs of short listed books to arrive. If they don't arrive soon we are going to have some very disappointed young people as the visit will have to be cancelled. Fingers Crossed.

21st May 2014 Our first Activity Day
Today our first feeder school will spend the day at Hungerhill School. Today we will be writing our book reviews and doing a dance workshop. The danceworkshop will be based on the shortlisted book "The Paperbdolls" On the 23rd June some of the Year 3 pupils will preform the dance they have learnt at our final event which parents and teachers will attend.

20th March 2014 First round of visits
On the 20th March we started visiting our Feeder Primary Schools. Mrs Beggs the Librarian and her assistant Mrs Flynn took a small group of Year 9 pupils to each feeder school before the Easter holidays. We presented each school with all the shortlisted books. We enjoyed the morning with a class of year 3 pupils, who we read the shortlisted books to and talked about the illustrations.

Monday 28th April 2014, Library Visits
Today we go to Hatfield Library for a library visist with one of our feeder schools. Over the next three weekd we will visit the library four more times, each time with a different feeder school. At the library we will vote for our favourite Greenaway book this year as well as completing a treasure hunt on the shortlisted books and learning a new action song which has been especially written for the final event.
