We have finished reading and discussing all the selected books for the Greenaway Award, it was a surprising result with There are No Cats in This Book being by far the most popular, with Can we Save the Tiger coming in second place and Puffin Peter in third place. The actual winner was announced last week but due to the content and the length of this book I chose not to review this book with the children, however I did read it and wasn't surprised to discover that A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness won both the Carnegie and Kate Greenaway award this year.

Today will be our last meeting before we break up for half term. We are going to be looking at our last two books: The gift and Can we save the Tiger? From next term we will be looking at writing up our reviews of our overall favourite book.

Two Books Down.
We have reviewed two books so far: Wolf won't Bite and There are no cats in this book. I think the cats book was the most popular between these two because they managed to get out of the book and see the world, which we all agreed was rather remarkable. Tomorrow we are going to be reviewing Puffin Peter and Solomon Crocodile.

We are an afterschool book club. We meet on Fridays and are planning to read and review all the picture books for the Kate Greenaway Award. This is the first year we have shadowed the awards and are very eager and excited to rate and review our favourite books. We will post up some of our reviews soon.
