Midwinterblood
This book has four different covers. Each appealing to a different audience, e.g. the cover with the man and a knife would appeal more to boys and the one with the girl holding flowers would appeal more to girls. The cover with the hares on it doesn't make sense until you actually read the book. The way Midwinterblood is written, the reader is kept in the dark for a long time as to how it will all come together. Each chapter is a different story. The stories all happen on the island 'Blessed' but at different times in history, each chapter goes further back in time. Although most of the characters are different in each story, the two main characters keep showing up at different ages, with slightly different spellings of their names and sometimes knowing each other and other times not. You have to be patient with this book. Once you read the last chapter and learn what it is all about, you'll want to reread the whole book again and connect all the pieces. I have never read a book like this before. I enjoyed it once I finished it but wasn't too sure about it while I was reading it.

A Greyhound of a Girl
I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. The title doesn't really give much away. I understand it now but when I first picked up the book, I wasn't sure how a girl and a greyhound could be compared. I really started getting into the book when I realized there was going to be a ghost. It was really easy to read and had no major twists or surprises. My favourite part was when they took the grandmother out to visit the farm and there were four generations of daughters in the car. It was a nice image. I would say that this book is currently one of my top three for the award. I would definitely recommend it!

Wonder
I loved this book! I liked how I slowly got to know the main character by reading the stories told by the people in his life. He gave me courage and made me reflect on my hang-ups. I have recommended it to four people already. This books needs to be recommended because the cover isn't very good! That is the only thing I would change about this book.
