Marjon Shadows

You came, you saw and you commented
Thank you for everybody who managed to find the time to come and look at all the wonderful short listed titles for the Greenaway award 2017. Harry Potter was a firm favourite but most of our trainee teachers said that the books that they would use in class were The Journey and Tidy. Wild Animals of the North was also highly praised.

The final book has arrived and it's brilliant. Thanks to Amy and Charlotte for starting off this year's shadowing yesterday and I can't wait for Tuesday so we can continue shadowing.

One more book to go!
Only missing one book and it's on it's way according to the book supplier. Dates have been set for our shadowing sessions so all set up and can't wait to get reading

Instantly recognisable! Oliver Jeffers literally 'draws' you in with his much loved illustrations.
A perfect edition to every KS1 classroom...Oliver Jeffers has created an amusing page-turner that will engage, encourage and aid children in their learning of the alphabet. It could easily be used alongside any phonics programme; in any school, to reinforce the learning of both phonemes and graphemes. It is definitely on my list of books to buy this year! We came, we read, we commented!
Thanks to everyone who attended our first meeting. The books were all great and the comments/critical analysis fascinating. How can the judges even begin to choose a winner? "This is not my hat" was popular, as was "Where my wellies take me" and "The day the crayons quit".
