Illustrating!
We illustrated for a poster all about our book club. Some people made a card for our local librarian who is sadly leaving :( One of us developed a new illustrating technique with coloured pencils!

We found the hidden books and pencils in Willy's Stories! Sam and Dave Dig a Hole was our favourite - we can't wait to read more next week!

Here are our shortlist predictions!
We looked at some books from the shortlist and decided that these should be in the shortlist tonight.... 1. "This Book Ate My Dog" Richard Byrne 2. "The Day the Crayons Came Home" by Drew Daywalt and Oliver Jeffers 3. "Please Mr Panda" by Steve Antony Crossing our fingers for tonight!

First Meeting - what is your favourite book?
We told everyone what our favourite book was and Mrs Buchanan showed us her favourite book. We looked at some of the authors and illustrators that will be on the shortlist. This week we recommend "Stuck" by Oliver Jeffers

The library kindly gave us books for book club.
We were all fighting over "Shadow" and "Butterfly Lion" by Michael Morpurgo and "The Hobbit" by JRR Tolkein. Ava got "How to Break a Dragons Heart".

World Book Day
Our school are celebrating World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite children's book character. We are also exploring storytelling this week by celebrating the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland through activities in class and in school.

First Meeting
Our group grew quickly and we were all excited to start. For our first meeting we spent a lot of time talking and getting to know each other's favourite places, funny events and favourite book characters. This week we are going to bring our favourite book.
