The de Ferrers Bookworms
Burton upon Trent,

Back for 2016
Hello there, fellow bookworms! The de Ferrer's Carnegie shadowing is well under way, with a whole host of news faces this year! Keep your eager eyes on our blog for updates soon...

So we haven't posted a blog post and we have read many of the shortlisted books for the Carnegie Awards recently. We haven't been able to post much because of recent assessments and rehearsals for the school production as mentioned in Miss Sawyer's last post. But with these behind us now, hopefully we can start updating more! I have recently finished More Than This which is truly amazing and a quality book it is. I have got through quite a large chunk of Apple and Rain and have certainly found this entertaining and well crafted. Once I have finished the book. I shall be updating the review section with this. Miles has read various books and is always posting reviews. And Sophie gives vast detail of how she is enjoying the books. So hopefully we shall be updating the blog with more posts! Just keep reading! - Nathan & Miles

But first...let me take a selfie!
We're all super busy at the moment, with drama club rehearsals, revision sessions and assessments, but we're still finding time to read! We've just had a very brief meeting to make sure that everybody is able to submit reviews. But perhaps most importantly, we've made plans for our first group photo! Get your cheesy grins ready for Friday, Bookworms! - Miss Sawyer

Whatever you do, make sure you keep on reading.
Here it is; our first blog post. How about a little introduction? So we're the de Ferrers Bookworms, based on Dove Campus at the de Ferrers Academy in Burton. Our school as shadowed Carnegie before, but it's the first year for our little group. There's Nathan, Miles, Lily, Sophie, and Alex, all in year 8, and Nat from year 9, all of whom as super keen readers, and were handpicked by me - Miss Sawyer. We had a bit of a slow start thanks to exams, but now we're fully up and running! We're lucky enough to have lots of iPads available, so we hope to produce some book trailers and videos in future, as well as more reviews. One final word to the de Ferrers Bookworms - whatever you do, just keep on reading! - Miss Sawyer :)
