Salt to the Sea
I finished the never-ending annoying 'historical novel', personally forget about the short list I don't even know why it was considered for the long list. It is a terrible book and I will never ever think twice about not picking up this book again. DON'T READ IT!!! Ambi

Bonds in Life
As soon I read One, I just knew I had to blog about it. The bond between Tippi and Grace truly withstood all the challenges they faced together. What would it be like to share every day together? Any conjoined twins are truly amazing. These people face a lot of sadness and pain but they also have the strongest of bonds. To be honest, I thought that Grace would die instead of Tippy. The twins are complicated as they differ in their personalities and yet they are so close and respect each other. The ending nearly made me cry! Seen you soon! A girl and her books

Fire Colour One and Life
Do you feel that you get so angry that you just want to burn something? Or is it that the way the flames dance? Initially , I thought that fire was the main theme but it's actually art. So my challenge for you is to find fire colour one and/or look at a piece of art and find a story and let your imagination run wild! See you soon A girl and her books

5 children on the Weston-Front
in my opinion 5 children of the Weston-front is the type of book that just draws you in. when I first started reading the book I was a little bit confused but as I carried on reading the book I understood more and more of the story.

A Poet Laureate in our midst !
Alyssia D has written a wonderful poem all about The Lie Tree . The way that Alyssia has formed the poem around the main theme of "lies " is marvellous.I love the way she has repeated the first line of the stanza at the start and at the end of the poem and the amount of detail included within the poem is very mature and creates imagery and mood for the reader to enjoy . Well done ,fantastic ! Mrs M

It's Friday and Half term is coming !
I'm looking forward to spending the holidays engrossed in a couple of books I still need to complete .At the moment I'm reading The Ghosts of Heaven by Marcus Sedgwick .What an interesting concept I would like to ask him where he got his inspiration for the idea behind these 4 short stories and the decision to use different writing styles .Mrs M.

Life and Books
Once someone told me that books reflect our lives, our actions and consequences. So what about these books? How can we relate to these stories? Well, the only way is to keep reading! Have fun reading! Zara

The story so far .
Engaged, enthusiastic, energised ,enjoying ,enlightened, and engrossed! These are just some of the words that spring to mind to describe the effect the books have had on our reading group so far .It's the first time our school has entered into the Carnegie Shadowing group and are relishing the opportunity to discuss and compare ideas with each other and local schools .On the 15th June we are going to Beaconsfield High School to meet other schools from the County to discuss their thoughts and opinions maybe to try and predict a winner? We are looking forward to it immensely .By the way this is the first EVER blog for me ! I'll keep you posted , Mrs M .
