Southend High School for Girls
Southend-on-Sea,

Tinder
I have recently read Sally Gardner's book 'Tinder'...and it is amazing! I enjoyed how Sally mixed in black magic, witches and wolves. This made the plot gripping. David Roberts' illustrations are original and helped me understand the cruelty and great beauty of this tale. Overall, this is an exquisite novel which I will re-read over and over again. Alicia :)

Our first meeting!!!
Today, 17th of March 2015, we had our first Carnegie Award meeting. We all picked our first books, and started reading them. Mine (Cuckoo Song) seems very scarily good, which I guess is a good thing! We have seven people in our group so far, but hopefully some more people will be coming to join us. We're all looking forward to finishing our books! Carmen
