Mayfield Grammar School, Gravesend

Nearly Half-way
The reading is going well with the only problem being a high demand for "Code Name Verity" and "In Darkness" as these are re-appearing more infrequently. Each time someone finishes one of these two they give a glowing report so competition is fierce to get hold of them. I just need "Code Name Verity" if anyone has nearly finished one?

Excellent selection
There was a modicum of panic when an eight book shortlist was announced, however, a lot of enthusiastic reading is making inroads. Favourites change frequently.

I'm reading an awesome book called Monsters of Men. It's about this dude that's saving New Prentisstown for his GF. It's off the hook. Prisoner of the Inquisition is a good book that never wants to make you put it down. It is an enticing book that made me LOL and cry. White Crow was a good read. It made me LOL. White Crow by Marcus Sedgewick is a fab book. I enjoyed it very much. There was always an unexpected turn of events. The Bride's Farewell is a book that captures your emotions. It's the story of a girl who runs away from home in search of a better fortune. It's a tale of luv and mystery. Agirl callz off her wedding and looks for a better luv. It's gr8. Out of Shadows shows the consequences of war between black and white. It shows the war is over physically but not mentally. White Crow is a fantastic story.

A bit slow on the uptake!
We have been too busy reading to blog so far this year. 8 books will take a lot of time and juggling of copies to get through in the time. Plenty of discussion as well and no clear favouorite yet.

We were too busy talking to keep track of the time and the meeting broke up in haste. I hope to get someone else to add to this later.

Mrs Sumner rules the world!
Today we all talked about all 7 books and ended up with mixed opinions. For example, I was the only person who actually liked Creature of the night.
