'Dragon Rider' by Cornelia Funke
'Dragon Rider' is a heart-warming story about dragons, humans, fantastic beasts and many other amazing things. A story of a dragon searching for sanctuary from the invading humans and how two brownies, a spi, a human boy and two dragons can defeat a seemingly undefeatable enemy.

'One'
This book is about two twins who have been stuck together from birth. When they enter a new school they meet new friends and learn that they have to make the most of everyday. Soon later they decided to go through with a life threatening operation. But will they survive? I would give this book a 4.5 stars, I think it would appeal to readers over 10 and readers who like plot twists.

Between Shades Of Gray
This story is set during the World War 2 era,and is about a 15 year old girl called Lina, who is deported with her mother and little brother Jonas for being enemys of the state. She is also seperated from her father but Lina is determined to survive her perilous and heartbreaking journey with whats left of her family, and fight against the Soviet army. This book is as unpridictable as it gets, and will leave you crying in sorrow, or on edge with fear and excitement. I would say that the most disturbing part of this story, is the fact that it actually happened. This book is mostr suitable for ages 13+, and thoses with a thirst for adventure. Review by Zak Smith

the hanging tree by Ben Aaronovitch
"the hanging tree" is a very interesting book with a range of diverse characters. the story line is exquisite but very complicated if you have not read the first 4 (it is the 5th book in the series). i am almost finished and so far it has been amazing- just what i would expect from the brilliant series i would give it 5 stars.

between shades of grey
I am in the middle of the book right now and loving every second of it because it is about love and war and people who are starving. Also they go to a farm to work for food. The book is full of emotion and depth of how they feel about their life.I wish this book would never end because of how good it is!

Matched
This book is about a world that is controlled by the officials. They choose when you die and who you will marry. When Cassia is chosen to be with her best friend, she falls in love with a mysterious boy. At the end the boy is taken away and leaves Cassia wondering if she will ever find love again I did not find this book very gripping, although it may appeal to other readers. I would reccommend this book to anybody who likes love stories and if you are 10 and over I would give this book three stars!

Matched
This is a book about how a girl living in a 'perfect society' finds out that her surroundings are far from perfect as she finds love in someone other than who she is meant to be with and how she would literally do anything to save him. This book is full of rule breaking and a really exciting read.

My Name is Mina
The prequel to Skellig, this a heart - warming book where a young girl opens up to the audience about how she deal with losing her father ( even though she dosn't really remember him) , being home-schooled and what it was like before and after she was in school.

Les Misarable
I thoroughly enjoyed this book although it was incredibly long and the title hardly strikes confidence in you as you pick it of the shelf!!! It took me about a month to read and I am in year 7 so I would defiantly recommend it for 15 to 18 year olds as it is very diverse, long and high vocabulary level. I would not like to spoil it for anyone as it would ruin the experience and I am almost certain you couldn't ask anyone else as not many people would have read it. All I can really say that it is about the life of an convict and the French revolution.

Ravens gate series
I enjoyed this book as it is about 4 boys and a girl who have supernatural powers and only when they all come together can they defeat the old ones. There are 5 books in the story and 4 of them are about finding each other. I am on the third book. I would recommend this for 10 year olds and above

The Other Side Of the Truth
This book is about a sister and her brother who"s mum was shot dead outside their house early in the morning. Suspiciously a car then screeched down an avenue of palm trees. Sade and her younger brother Femi have a dad who"s a journalist and says the truth in when writing and the Nigerian government do not want the truth. Femi and Sade have to travel away to London and stay with Uncle Dele although, is he there? I would recommend this book for 12-16 year olds as some of the content is quite grown up. A thrilling book that leaves you on a cliff hanger!
