Salt to the Sea
I thought the characters back stories were well thought out, which was important, as they formed the basis of the story. The way the characters' stories interlocked, was very good. Apart from Alfred, whose character really annoyed me (I think it was supposed to,) they all developed to show kindness. I loved Florian, and thought of him as the main character. It was amazing how the author elaborated on his involvement in the Nazis thieving of art, and the missing piece of history, the amber room. A great book, and a great contender for the medal.
