Knowsley School Library Service

All systems go!
All our participating schools will have received their books by now and should have their groups up and running. It was great to see Meg Rosoff and Marcus Sedgewick on the shortlist again - I really like both authors. It would have been nice to have a few more accessible reads on there this year - something a bit less wordy, or should that be worthy!

Thanks for having us
We had a really good visit to Knowsley Park CFL. The group were really nice and they made some great observations about what they were reading. They are a Year 7 group and I think they have done really well to read this year's shortlisted books as some of them are quite challenging. I'm looking forward to finding out their winner.

Decision made
I've decided to try Chains as my next book. Don't think I'll have read it by Thursday but you never know.

See you Thursday
We are looking forward to our visit to Knowsley Park CFL later this week, to see what their group think about the shortlisted titles. See you there!

Decisions, decisions!
I can't decide which one to read next! I'm afraid to say I'm not abig Terry Pratchett fan and I don't fancy the Phillip Reeve one either! I'd like to try Chains but we only have the 1 copy and someone else is reading it. That just leaves the Ask and the Answer and I haven't read the prequel. It's a hard life!!

Nice to see you......
It was great to see everyone at the meeting last week. Our different groups are all busy reading this year's titles and a few favourites are emerging. Revolver seems to be the pupils favourite so far, despite some of them finding the flashbacks a bit confusing. Rowan the Strange seems to be the Librarians favourite. Everyone agrees that the Ask and the Answer doesn't stand alone - so if you haven't read the knife of Never Letting Go it's a bit confusing.

See you later
We are meeting up with our Secondary School Librarians today to discuss how their sessions are going and what their groups are enjoying reading so far. Looking forward to seeing how they are all getting on.
