Trash
Iam half way through reading Trash and I think it's a very good book with a clear understanding of how people live in the shanty towns. So far the three main characters Raphael, Gardo and Rat have been led to find an envolope with something inside, they do not open it but read the address and find out that they need to deliver it to someone in a prison. I have realised that this story is not told from one person's view but from a few, they compare their storys of how each one becomes involved. om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom om nom

Between Shades Of Grey
As I progress through the book it becomes more tense and intreaging. This book isn't for everyone but its deffenatly for me. I really like the book and I think the characters are all nice but my favourite charater is Andrius. The story is still unfolding and I am excited to get to the end and see what happens.

between shades of gray
i have been reading this book for a while now, and still dont fully understand what is going on, i do in parts. however, it is a good interesting book because it doesnt give too much away so you cant predict what will happen, and is very intriguing. even though it doesnt give alot away it does answer your questions throughout:)

Between Shades Of Gray
the book is getting more and more interesting everytime i read it. it is becoming more intreaging and makes you want to carry on reading. ona and her baby have both died/been murdered and the main character Lina is showing more and more courage everytime, and also her mother is also starting to show that she can defent herself. (:

Trash - Andy Mulligan
"Three friends. Raphael, Gardo and Rat. Living on a hepa of trash, a lifetime of sifting rubbish. one day they find something extrodinary - a deadly secret. From that moment they are hunted without mercy. With danger snatching at their heels, the boys are chased from the city's dirty gutters to its wealthy avenues. But they can't run forever. they need a miracle." Perfect blurb for the perfect novel.

Between shades of gray
I have still not read all the book yet but i still think its dead good. I have got into all the characters and love them all. Andrius is the new character and i think he likes lina. However, he went on a search to find his father and come back in abit of a mess as he is battered by the soviet people. The story is still beginning though:L

TRASH - Andy Mulligan
I have been reading Trash and so far the three characters Raphael, Gardo and Rat have found something rather intresting which the police are looking for. Are they going to keep it to themselves and follow the clues or is one of them going to be tempted to hand it in for the reward. I am enjoying this book but not so much that i cant put it down. In my opinion this book is worth the Caregie Greenway prize and is one of the best books that i have read so far. 9PA - ;)

Trash
I have been camping this weekend and when we had any free time i sat in the tent and read trash. by the time we had drove home from the campsite i had finished the book and actually started to re-read it. The good thing about the book is that it answered all the questions i had thought of while i was reading the book.

My Blog For Trash
I have just started reading Trash. the story matches the title very well. It's about a boy that lives in a very poor environment. In my opinion, the boy acts very maturely considering he is the same age as me. Also, he acts like a normal boy but the way he gets money to survive isn't so normal. He sifts through piles of rubbish to try and find something of any value that he can sell. one day he finds a wallet loaded with money. He buys a roast chicken for his dinner. The next blog will explain the surprising later event. Olivia Wilson 9PA

My Sister Lives On The Mantelpiece.
My sister live on the mantelpiece is about a boy who's sister(Rose) has died and her ashes are in an urn on the mantel piece. His Mum and Dad have seperate due to arguments between what they each wanted to do with Rose. His Dad wanted Rose to be cremated and His Mum wanted her to be buried. However, they split certain body parts and did what they wanted to do. The boy (James) is confused as he hasn't ever cried over his sisters death, mainly because he didn't know her so well as he was young when she was alive.James's parents are annoyed that he doesn't respect their mourning of Rose. As his parents seperated his Mum moved to live with 'Ronnie' a man from the 'support group' who she was having an affair with. And his dad took him,Jasmine(Rose's twin sister) and Rose's urn to live in a cottage in Ambleside. James and Jasmine like the countryside however their Dad has a drinking problem ever since Rose has died. ^^This has happened so far in the book and i am quite interested in what is going to happen next.

between shades of gray:)
Between shades of Gray is about Lina, a fifteen year old girl and her mother and young brother. They are hauled out of their home by soviet guards and deported to siberia. This book is quite an interesting book, but is very slow moving, so sometimes you don't understand what is happening. I have enjoyed reading this book so far and learnt that lina is a very quiet girl and listens to orders straight away. X

My Name Is Mina
My Name Is Mina is a weird book, but it's really good too. Mina writes about her life in poems, stories and journal entries. I find it hard to put down and Mina explains in her own confusing way how she feels and sometimes it's hard to understand what she means. She is portrayed as really clever in her own way and I think she's really imaginative. I would recommend reading My Name Is Mina, but I don't think it would be a good enough book to win the Carnegie prize, because all of the other books are really good too.

Everybody Jam Chapter 1-2
So far this book is an enjoyable read and an easy one too. So far Ali Lewis has done a great job of giving Danny Dawson a lot of problems in his life. First of he has a pregnant 14 year old sister and his brother died in an accident that noone likes to talk about. The style of writing in this book is a chatty style which makes it easier to read and more enjoyable so that it is easier to enjoy it. My first impressions of the book are really good and so far this is by far one of the best books i have read by far.

Between Shades Of Grey
What I have read of Between Shades Of Grey, has been quite good so far, no boring aspects have cropped up it has all been quite exciting and intriguing. In my opinion, it is very similar to what happened with Hitler and his Nazi party, which i find horrific but really interesting. i havent yet read all of the book i have only read up to chaper 11, but of what i have read it has been a vrey good book, however i think that later on in the book it could get slightly boring. Cya. (:

One day he finds a bag of money that he uses to find a chicken roast for his dinner. Then the police knocked on the door and asked if he had seen a bag of money today. He lied and said no, his friends were quite surprised by this but went along with the act. I am really looking forward to reading more of this book.

Trash - Andy Mulligan
This is a good book so far. From what i have read, the book is rather interesting but not so revealing as yet more secrets are to be unfolded. So far a fourteen year old boy - Raphael - and his best friend - Gardo - have stumbled across something some what perculiar whilst rumaging through the trash heaps in search of something worth selling; and it isnt long before they are nearly found out as the ploivce soon arrive with one thing in mind... A bag... Could it be the very same bag that the boys had previously found. the very same bag that housed a huge sum of money and a key? It appears so but it wasn't long before they were millimeters away of bieng found out as Raphael's auntie had stated that he had found something earlier to the police...

The book is very intreging and is very gripping and thrilling and cant wait,we are already enthrauled and is waiting to find out what happens next CYA GUUYSSSSS!

So far in Chains...
Our group is named LARD as we like lard. The beginning letter af all the members within our group. We are reading the book 'Chains' by Laurie Halse Anderson. We have read both individually and within a group and I believe that we are all enjoying this book as the stroy line is interesting. So far, we have learn't about how Isabel and Ruth (who are sisters) have been shipped to New York with the Locktons to work as slaves after their previous owner died and they couldn't get a hold of her will where she set them free. From this they were both given to their previous owners only living relative, who didn't have a need for them so he then sold them to the Locktons who lived in New York. I hope the book carries on up to our expectations and will be a good ending.

Up to chaper 11
Our book "the vanishing" by "Helen Grant" is quite a strange book, and also a very mysterious storyline. So far our group have been reading at different paces, the furthest one of us has got up to is chapter 11.The stroy is based on a girl called Katharina Linden, who strangely dissapears, its also based in a German town. The stroy is told by a girl called "PIeb" who's grandma exploded. As a group we are all looking forward to reading the rest of the book, and to see how the story unfolds.

The Revolver-Chapter 1-6
Our group is called Bingbong and we choose 'The Rem' because of the mysterious picture of the gun on the front page. At first you find out Sig's father is dead, however this should pull the reader in but it takes a while to become interested in the story. Although the beginning of the book is slow, the amount of description and detail is incredible and you really feel like you're in the story yourself. On the other hand, the change of settings and times get confusing at various stages. I would recommend this book if you have time and patience.

Chains (M&Ms)
So far we have read upto page 53, and we think it had a slow start but after 6 pages the book got quite interesting. The character of Isabel is stong natured and will do anything to help her little sister and fight for the freedom they deserve. Chains is a rollercoaster of emotions and defenetly something to read. :)

Chapters 1-10 Revolver Best of the Bunch
So far in the book we think that the story is very unrevealing and still has alot m0re to show us. at the moment it is very interesting but doesnt make alot of sense and is still giving you just pieces of the puzzle. wolff is a very uncertain charater and we cant quite tell if he is on sigs and his dads side or if he is after something else. We'll keep up the blogs as the story progresses

Halfway Through
Team Rocket are around halfway through the cheese and so far we think it's tasty. The story line is going well so far and we can't wait to find out what happens to Isabel and her younger sister. By Sophie

Chapters 1-8
The book Chains is set at the time of 1776 which was at the time were the black population from Africa were sold and traded to America to be used at slaves. Slaves are what Ruth and Isabelle are. Owned by Miss Mary Finch. However with her recent death their ownership belongs to Mr Robert Finch the nephew of Miss Mary Finch. At the very start of the book we discover that the sibling’s mother died from small pox a common disease in that era. The sisters are not wanted and need to be sold. Mr Finch and the sisters travel up to Newport and stay in a near by tavern. This is were we are introduced to jenny her mysterious character causes suspicion to us the readers and to Isabelle, as she knows Isabelle’s deceased mother. But how? A price was labelled on the girls by jenny however the girls were bought by the Locktons a rich family living in New York. So far I find the book interesting it’s a gripping story but also expresses the girls feeling well about there experience in the slave trade. This helps to show a historical side of the story too.

Chapters 1-2 Graveyard Book
Our group "put a book on it" has began to read chapter two of "The Graveyard Book" by Neil Gaiman. I found the meal started slow but as I have continued eating I have enjoyed it more and more. The books makes you think are these ghosts and ghouls real?, or not?

Chapters 1-9
Our group is reading the book Chains, by Laurie Halse Anderson. Although we thought it had a slow start, we are now finding the plot to be intriguing and page-turning. As well as having an interesting story, Chains provides us with an informative insight into the life of a slave in New York, 1776.

At the beginning of the book, we find that Isabel (the main character) and Ruth's mother is dead. They are slaves, but their owner, Miss. Mary Finch, has recently died, freeing them in her will. Unfortunately, her nephew, Mr. Robert Finch, beleives that as he is her only living relative, everything she owned now belongs to him; stubborny, he refuses to check for this will. After Miss. Mary's funeral, Mr. Robert takes them to Sullivan's Tavern in Newport.

There, the girls meet Jenny and her husband, Bill. She feeds Isabel and Ruth, telling Isabel that she knew her mother and father. Isabel wants Jenny to take her and her sister in, as she seems such a kind woman - and she knew their parents. Although she does bid for them, Jenny cannot afford the slaves and so they are sold to the Locktons: Elihu and Anne, a rich couple from New York.

They travel uncomfortably on the Hartshorn, but soon arrive in New York. At the dock, there is a problem. All cases are being checked as they arrive, but Mrs. Lockton refuses to let someone check through her chest and sits on it, making a scene. Bellingham, another important man, is eager to arrest Mr. Lockton, as he is beleived to be on the King's side in the Revolutionary War that's going on. Eventually though, they get through without the chest being checked to prevent more trouble from Mrs. Lockton. While at the dock, Ruth laughs during this scene, making Mrs. Lockton furious. Protecting her sister, Isabel takes the blame and Mrs. Lockton slaps her for the first time.

After the scene at the dock, Isabel is sent to get water from the Tea Water Pump before she goes to the Locktons' house. Bellingham's slave-boy, Curzon, shows her the way. While they are together, she tells him about her and Ruth's situation. Curzon tells her that if she hears anything while at the Locktons', she should tell him so that the Patriots (those against the King) can act against Mr. Lockton. Isabel says that she won't.

When she gets to the Locktons' house, she meets Beck Berry, a maid of sorts. She shows Isabel the ropes and gets her to help out with the cleaning. She also tells her that Lady Clarissa Seymour is coming for tea, to hear the news. Over the next few days, Isabel does jobs around the house and she learns that the Locktons often argue with each other. Soon, Mrs. Lockton makes Ruth her personal slave in a way, spending most all of her time with her.

Days later, Lady Seymour and some of the Master's friends come round. She wants to see Isabel and so she is sent in, where Ruth is already with Lady Seymour and Madam. Isabel introduces herself, but Madam says that Isabel Finch is a ridiculous name, christening her Sal Lockton instead.

After that, she helps Becky to take food to the Master. Isabel is told to stay in the room, to keep the wine flowing and the plates full. While she is there, the men talk about how they're on the side of the King. Master opens the chest Madam made such a fuss about, showing them the money it contained. They plan to pay people to get them to switch sides.

The men are so careless as to talk about their plans in front of slaves because they think so much less of them than white people. So far, the book has been very interesting and now the plot is starting to unfold, it is even more so. It provides a real insight into how slaves were treated in 1776. However, even though it includes a lot of historical information, it isn't overloaded with it, so the story doesn't become boring or more about the history than the characters and their lives.
