Word Cloud Reviews
we logged on to our computers and went to to create word cloud reviews of the Carnegie short listed books, using key words to describe what are the main themes and ideas. Because Tagxedo allows different shapes, we used Africa shape for The Fastest Boy in the World, an apple for Apple and Rain and a snake for The Middle of Nowhere!

Fairy tale consequences
Inspired by Tinder, whose author was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen, we have been creating our own fairy tales! In a lively session we played consequences, starting with once upon a time, then who the boy was, what his mission was, who he met, what he said, what she said and what happened after that! The funniest was after the boy said "wow, you are beautiful, now I order you to take me to the princess who is cursed", she said "I hope you washed your hands!"

This year's shadowing is up and running!
we love reading (of course!) and chatting (naturally) and had a good first get together with biscuits and a top-trumps style look at the Carnegie books. We rated the covers, titles, opening lines, blurb and overall appeal. The Bunker Diary narrowly came out top.
