Enfield Grammar School
Who is the Enfield Grammar Carnegie Winner?
Tied 1st place – The Smell of Other People’s Houses by Bonnie Sue-Hitchcock, Salt of the Sea by Ruta Sepetys & The Bone Sparrow by Zana Fraillon! The boys decided that they wanted a clear winner and it was decided to hold a second vote. Dominic did a great pitch which resulted in The Smell of Other People’s Houses to be our Enfield Grammar School Carnegie Winner. Salt & the Sea & The Bone Sparrow tied again, this time for 2nd place.
Well done to Yucelay for winning the best review for Wolf Hollow. Mr Lamb was very impressed with everyone's reviews. Well done. Thank you to Mr Alder for talking with the boys about human rights issues and thank you to the boys for their hard work.

What makes a good story?
We have been discussing what makes a good story and listening to authors Frank Cottrell Boyce, Lauren Wolk and Ruta Sepetys talk about what inspired them for their books on the Carnegie shortlist. We listened to them explaining why they thought their favourite books live long in their memories.

Discussing the books .....
Great discussions about the books. We have looked in an atlas to find where some of the stories are based and chosen our favourites so far - see our barometer!
