Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School

We have spotted a typo!
One of our eager Carnegie members, Zara, has made a fascinating discovery in 'Roof Toppers'. On page 152, Zara spotted a grammatical imperfection which shows that she was reading very accurately. Well done Zara!

The BLOGGGING update from our very sophisticated library.
Hi! People are getting well underway with their books. George - one of our youngest members has already completed reading all the books. What a fantastic achievment! Though the majority of the books are overwhelmingly interesting, we have all agreed that there are some very dissappointing books that seem to have no ending. We are currently all very happy with the sessions and are enjoying sharing ideas. Bye. Abdallah.

Carnegie club meetup-2/5/14
We have turned up today and talked about the wristbands and discussed books. George discussed that 'Ghost Hawk' by Susan Cooper is generally quite good but in places tedious. Abdallah thinks that the book is quite boring as it drags on and on and on and never stops in places. Zara discussed 'Roof Toppers' by Katherine Rundell. She reckons that it was a very easy read and also thought that it was decent. Abdallah thinks of the bunker diary as a thrilling read (Abdallah is typiing the entire blog). The book is full of mystery right from the start and it continues to the very last page. The characters are all unique in there own way. Carlos thinks that 'Liar and Spy' is the most over-rated book yet- I agree. The story drags on and on and there is no obvious conclusion. We will keep you posted. Goodbye.

CARNEGIE 2014 - Our first meet up!
Friday 25th April will be our first group meet up - we are very much looking forward to this. Some students have already been reading lots over the Easter break - so well done! We have 2 book reviews online already, which are very impressive. We are ready to share what we can tomorrow at our meeting - I am sure it's going to be very interesting. We will also be looking more closely at the website and how we can personalize our area.
