Going to Arnold
We have just been to Arnold (yesterday) and had a great time! Carton-Le-Willows were really nice and friendly and we got on really well with them. We did a great game had a break then got to work on our presentation. Then we had lunch which was yummy and came back to the library and showed everyone our presentations. When we were done we got back on the bus and had a singing fest!

what we are liking and disliking
We have done many tests and all of the ones we have done we have found out that the people in our group have liked Rowan the Strange but our top book is Chains. We are now doing a poll - we are still deciding but we have had many ideas.

Final votes now taken
Overall our favourite Greenaway turned out to be Little Boat, closely followed by Varmints. Our favourite Carnegie, by quite a few votes, was Knife of Never Letting Go. We really enjoyed our day out on 25th June, meeting up with our friends from Carlton le Willows school. Many group members say they want to take part next year, which is great.

First group votes for their favourite Greenaway book
Took a vote today with one of the Greenaway groups, and the top book by a long way was Varmints, much to my surprise, We have submitted a few book covers on this title as well to the Gallery, so it should not be such a surprise. Wonder what the second group will vote for!

Masses of reviews
We now have a whopping 205 reviews on our page (12th June) and there are more to come. This is because so many people are taking part in both Carnegie and Greenaway (2 classes for Greenaway and a large group for Carnegie). Although some of the reviews are short, we are concentrating on making sure each reviewer tells us what they think about the book rather than re-telling the stories. We will be voting for our favourites soon, but with 2 Greenaway classes it will be very interesting to see what comes out top!

So far so good!
We have 23 pupils from Years 7 to 9 in our Carnegie group now and we are well over half way through reading the books. At the moment there is no clear winner, as we all seem to like different things. It should be interesting to see what comes out top when we vote for our favourite book. There are some discussions going on between us and our link school through a private Wiki, but we are looking forward to discussing these books in person with them on the results day. The two Greenaway groups are judging the books using guides and discussion sheets provided on the website, and we have submitted some alternative book covers into the Gallery.
