Chobham Academy Book Group
40 Cheering lane, London

The home stretch
With just a few weeks to go, we're looking forward to finding out who wins on June 22nd. I hope most of the group will be able to join me in the LRC to watch the live streaming of the awards ceremony. Also, plans are afoot for those reading the Haringey Award shortlist to attend the awards ceremony on July 7th. Watch this space!

Reading, reading, reading...
We've had some very interesting (and noisy) debates over the last couple of weeks. Cuckoo Song has really divided opinion here, with some readers disliking it so much that they've abandoned it altogether, and others devouring it and loving it. Tinder sparked a lively discussion about book illustration, and More Than This seems to be going down very well. Reviews are starting to appear on our site now, which is great. Keep it up everyone!

New books!
We are such a big group that we've decided to divide into smaller discussion groups. One group is starting off with our local Haringey Children's Book Award, while the other three are diving straight into the Carnegie Shortlist. So far Cuckoo Song, closely followed by Tinder, is the most popular choice to take away over the Easter holiday. The Fastest Boy in the World has proved popular too. Happy reading everybody!
