A tough decision!
Football or Carnegie author visit from Melvin Burgess - a tough decision. Ella and Esme are so popular they have been picked to see the author, Melvin Burgess with the Upper School and be part of the U13 football team. They are disappointed that they can't do both, but are looking forward to the cake and seeing Melvin Burgess, plus balloon release of their reviews next Monday. Mrs Clear

Mrs Clear luuurvves Greyhound
Please let Greyhound win, I love it. Ella, however, loves Wonder but thinks Midwinterblood will win as it is "so different from anything else". Esme's favourite is Midwinterblood. So long to wait until we know the winner. Mrs Clear

Ella and Esme rate the different versions of book covers
Ella and Esme took time out of their busy exam schedule to have a quick discussion session about the covers of the hardback, Kindle and paper versiobns of some of the shortlist titles. Great to see they have differeing opinions as EK rates the Bear on the Boat hardback cover as Boring and e.e. rates it as Interesting!! Good luck with your exams, girls! Mrs Clear

Esme finishes the shortlist!
I have now finished the shortlist after completing Midwinterblood (see my review that should be posted soon!) My favourite has to be Wonder or Midwinterblood because both of them had very unique plots and kept me gripped. My least favourite has to be 'Boy and a Bear in a Boat' as it was very chlidish and didn't really have a definite plot. Also, the ending didn't clarify anything and left a few knots untied. Thanks. Esme.

Maggot Moon
I have finished Maggot Moon and am now onto my last book Midwinterblood (sob). Maggot Moon was very interesting, but I don't think it is very suitable for younger children, or people who are quite squeamish. I hope others will enjoy it! Esme

A boy and a Bear in a boat
I have almost finished A bot and a Bear in a boat and I have enjoyed it. I think it is maybe a little bit childish but its quite fun to read. Ella

Maggot Moon
I (Esme) am onto my fifth book 'Maggot Moon' after finishing Wonder, Greyhound of a Girl, Weight of Water and Boy and a Bear in a Boat. Both librarians have described it as VERY violent, so I am slightly wary but excited to find out more!!

Boy and a Bear in a Boat
Ella is onto her fourth book after finishing the eight of water, wonder and greyhound of a girl. 'I have read mixed reviews about this but I hope I will like it.'
