Haverstock School

And here we go again..
Our first meeting took place on Thursday, 26th March. After a brief presentation we spent most of our first session researching the eight shortlisted Carnegie Medal books. We discussed our favourites at first glance, snacked on biscuits and juice and finally chose the first book to read. The shortlisted books cover a wide range of genres and I am quite confident that we will all enjoy this wonderful selection of books. Ms. Lawrence

That time of the year....
It’s that time of the year again and we have been rushed off our feet with the Carnegie Shadowing Book Club here at Haverstock School Library. It has been rather animated in the library with our 55 book club members, meeting every Thursday for the past 6 weeks. I have just finished reading ‘A Greyhound of a Girl’ by Roddy Doyl. Has anyone noticed the similarity in subject matter to last year’s Carnegie Medal winner, ‘A Monster Calls’ by P. Ness & S. Dowd? P. Lawrence .
