First Meeting - Favourites Revealed (2)!
The Upper School part of the Book Club met today. Most of us haven't finished reading our books yet, except for Alice and Alice who have finished Cosmic. They both really enjoyed the book and gave it 9 1/2 out of 10. Joshua and Jacob are reading Bog Child and are finding it quite hard to follow. Mina and Isabelle are reading Ostrich Boys and they are also finding it hard to follow. Daniel and Jacob are reading Air Man and are really enjoying it - they are just not finished yet!

First Meeting - Favourites Revealed!
The Lower School part of the book club have just read their first book from the Kate Greenaway Awards short list. So far the favourites seem to be Varmints and Harris Finds His Feet. Jordan, William, Annabel and Megan liked these books the best because they have a great story and very detailed illustrations, especially in Varmints. Savage seems to be quite unpopular at the moment. Tay-Jon and Michael found the story hard to read because of all the spelling mistakes and didn't like the illustrations.

Previous Kate Greenaway Winners!
Over the Easter holidays our Year 3 members read 'The Adventures of the Dish and the Spoon'. We loved the illustrations in it. We decided to create our own wanted posters for the Dish and the Spoon. Have you read the book? Did you enjoy it?

Previous Carnegie Winners!
Over the Easter holidays our Year 4, 5 and 6 children read Millions by Frank Cottrell Boyce. Last week we had a discussion about the book and some of the issues it raised. We talked a lot about whether money could buy you friends or happiness - it got quite heated!!! We decided that money could make you happy for a while, but may not bring you happiness. We also decided that money could buy you friends, but not true friends. What do you think?
