2016 Brings another great year for C & G
Our Greenaway Group started on the 14th April and we have some amazing students in Year 7 who are keen and enthusiastic to read the shortlisted illustrated books. Our first choice was The Sleeper and The Spindle and our students were great detectives for their first task. Watch this space....

Airman reunited
'Airman' was on the Doncaster Book Award and lots of pupils found it quite a boring, sometimes difficult read. There were lots of 'oh no', 'not again' but we are pleased to say a couple of members are giving it another go!

DRAMA DAY HELD AT OUR NEIGHBOURING SCHOOL
We were invited to attend a drama day at Don Valley School based on the Short List Books. Dave Cryer was the leader who helped us explore the storylines using drama based activities. We worked with Armthorpe School too. Some of the comments from our pupils ..... Matthew - "Great insight into the books" Kyle - "It was cool to watch the performances, Airman rules!" Emily - " I made friends with different school children...I want to read all of the books immediately" Clayton - " The day was exciting and enjoyable" Luke - "I enjoyed the drama based on the books" Mrs Dickson - "Our pupils worked well with the other two schools, it was a great insight into each of the books. We have a waiting list for the copies of each book!"
