Last year was the first time that SLBS had taken part in the Carnegie Shadowing Scheme. The Langton Heroes was a small but enthusiastic reading group established especially for the scheme This year we have more than 20 boys taking part, mostly from Years 7, and 8 although there are also a few boys from Years 9 and 10. All are keen readers and have been busy reading books from the shortlist. Many have been encouraged to read books that they may not otherwise have considered reading. We had a very interesting meeting to discuss the criteria which the books are judged on and rthen voted for our winner which was A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. Other favourites were Everybody Jam, Between Shades of Gray and Trash.
