Cleeve Park School - Fiction Force
Sidcup,
Group status: We are an active group that meet every Wednesday

Cleeve Park School, Sidcup, Kent. Our reading groups have been shadowing the Carnegie Book Award for fourteen years. Fiction Force meets weekly in the Library at break time on Wednesdays. Our meetings are very informal. The age range of our group is 11 to 15. Our pupils have mixed views about the Carnegie shortlists which often lead to some very interesting discussions. Sometimes we have a clear winner but other years there is a big debate. The highlight of the Carnegie shadowing for us is the Bexley Borough School event. We get to meet other pupils in our borough who have been reading the Carnegie shortlist, give a presentation on our favourite book and then listen to everyone else’s presentations. We also get an opportunity to vote on the favourite book for our borough. We are looking forward to another year of good books.
