Group status: Last term of the year but still going/reading strong!

Prendergast School

Our group is called 'The Gobstoppers'. A mixed bunch, some of whom are absolutely CRAZY! but great, some who are weaker readers and are quite quiet but they still feel part of the Gobstopper family because the stronger readers can support and read with them. We range from year 7 to year 10 and are about 50 strong at the moment and have a waiting list of kids who are just dying to sign up. We meet up every Thursday lunchtime and alongside reading the shortlist, we do related tasks and other fun stuff to spice things up . On top of that the Gobstoppers are always rewarded for their hard work (even though what we're doing is not even considered as work!). All the Gobstoppers are special as individuals but together we are a reading group to be reckoned with and are well known throughout the school ;)
