De Lisle College
Group status: we have awakened from our slumber and we are ready to judge the Carnegie books
BORN TO READ!
Our reading group meets every week in the library every Monday lunchtime. We are a very lively and active group of students, a bit loud sometimes, but fun and enthusiastic. We all love to read and to discuss books (and other things) and often have lively debates. Our aim is to encourage others to read and enjoy books as much as we do.
Hooray it’s lunchtime and our first shadowing meeting. We are so excited and the response has been brilliant. We welcome back many familiar faces and several new faces joining us for the first time this year, some would say foolishly, so best of luck to all. We hope we will pick the winner this year but going on past performance it seems unlikely.
This is a special time of year for us when like minded people get together to read fabulous books (whilst stuffing ourselves with biscuits). Forget Wimbledon, the cricket or even the FA cup....this is when summer really begins! Once again the intrepid readers of De Lisle are rising to the challenge and what a challenge, six books to choose from and we can’t wait.
