Adeebah, Plashet School

The Bone Sparrow

This is an absolutely amazing book about a young boy - Subhi - and his life in a refugee detention centre. The trials and tribulations he faces are horrific, reflecting the harsh reality of what countless refugees around the world face. Hence, I think this book teaches us a lot about the problems refugees face which I believe is important as it's not an issue that is spoken about very much. Also, I really admire the strong friendship between Subhi and the girl as it shows that a person's background or language shouldn't come between people.
