Beck

Beck is a little old for some of my readers, however I will allow them to read it with parental permission.
Beck is beautifully written and after you have read past the most disturbing first chapters you really begin to understand the background and hope that Beck can get through this ordeal. I do think it could have been written for a younger audience by leaving more to the imagination than spelling it out, however, this is how the author Meg Rosoff generally writes.
My opinion is that it will pick up prizes. If not the Carnegie, then others will follow.
