The Bone Sparrow
Subhi was born in detention. He knows nothing of life beyond the wire fence that borders the real world but he likes to dream of a night ocean that brings messages from his never seen father and a time his family will be free. Jimmie lives up the road from the detention center. People say that the refugees have everything but she wanted to find the truth. To do that she goes to the camp herself.
The book is based on a young boy where he is new to the open world and as the reader you have to pick up the pieces as you go.
The bone sparrow helps people understand what life is like as a refugee. This touching and lyrical novel shows cruelty towards refugees and asylum seekers, that still occur in the real world.
This is a tragic, beautifully crafted and wonderful book which I urge everyone to read!!!!!!
