The Smell of Other People's Houses
The Smell of Other People's Houses is an amazing book that has four captivating narratives. These characters were clearly different and it was easy to distinguish between them. However, I felt that perhaps the characters' stories didn't really relate to each other that much. They all linked in the end, but I felt that they would have been better as separate, more developed short stories. All the characters were interesting, especially Alyce. I would like to have seen a little bit more character development from her. I also loved Alyce and Sam's relationship. I think Hank was also a great character who was kind and always put his brothers before himself. I loved Dumpling and her family as they were so kind to Dora. Overall, a great book that makes you tear up a little at the end!
