Viktoriia, The Long Eaton School
Salt to the Sea
Fantastic novel, my favourite so far from the Carnegie short listed books.
It is wonderful how you could see this forgotten part of history and maybe that's the worst part: to know that it has been forgotten by many. The multiple points of view is a vital part of this story. There are four points of views in total and all of them are divergent. It is so interesting to see how the characters deal with the Second World War and their loss in their own way while also trying to survive.
I definitely recommend it to everyone, not just because of how great it was presented. written and put together but also because this should be remembered. The memory of the tragic past shouldn't just disappear.
