The Hate U Give

The Hate U Give is an amazing and gripping book. When I was reading it, I never wanted to put it down! The story line is well thought out and the book made me think about what black people have to go through and how unfair it is. Angie Thomas really inspired me to try and use my voice more.

In the book Starr had to balance her life between her home and her school. She also had to suffer when her friend Khalil was shot by the police. This book is not just a story, for some people it's true and that is what makes this book even more fantastic. It gives you something to ponder even when you are not reading it. Its is more than just a book, it is inspiring and helps you understand what it would really be like to be in the shoes of Starr, or anyone else in a similar situation...
