Beck

The novel 'Beck'is written by Mal Peet who passed away before the book was finished so Meg Rosoff finished the story. The novel is truly not for the faint-hearted.The book has a gripping storyline about a mixed-race boy who is exposed to abuse, racism and discrimination.Beck looses the people closest to him and his past unravels in a way that really make you think about the trauma he has experienced at such a young age.Beck is taunted and called racist names and this really impacts his beliefs on races and as you're reading the book you can feel that he believes that there is a superior race (the whites).I do not recommend this book to younger audiences and the storyline is not suitable. I would give this book a rate of 4.8/5.One of the best books I've had the privilege of reading.
