Andrew C, Ermysted's

Beck

This read, written by Mal Peet and Meg Rossof, was very... disgusting, and very revealing of life's horrors. Beck's experience with Brother Robert in the Orphanage was in a way gripping, but made me consider whether the book was too mature for me. After I got over that wariness, I found that the book was actually beautifully developed, with Beck's experience as a Bootlegger and then a love for Grace McAllister. The descriptions of truck-driver Lester Floyd were unbelievably sobering. I've never read a more gripping book!
