Where the World Ends

'Where the World Ends, was a true story, set in 1727-28, about a team of boys who are sent to the Warrior Stac Island every summer to hunt birds. But this summer, no one comes back to take them home. Throughout the story, we are captivated by the author's amazing writing techniques and we follow everything the boys do, taken aback by the hidden suprises like 'John' being a girl. Also, the writer's style makes us want to keep reading, even in the same setting. The best part that was written for me was SPOILER ALERT!!

the death of Davie, because as I was sitting reading I managed to feel that sadness and the scene brought real tears to my eyes. In my opinion, the ending was extremely clever, as we find out exactly why no one came for them and who was actually telling the story. Overall, the book was amazing and the writing was beyond what I have read out of all the shortlisted.
