Maeve, St Augustines Catholic College

Beyond the Bright Sea

This is not a book I particularly enjoyed, it was overly cliche I thought. Another tale of an orphan running around trying to find their family. However, there were a few noticeable differences to other stories. In this tale Crow didn't leave her adopted family to find her birth family. Instead Oak (her adopted family) helps her find her birth family. They always stayed together. Other than a few core differences and some plot twists, it wasn't a book I would read again or recommend. Overall I found it very tedious.
