Beth, Denefield's Brilliant Bookworms
Saint Death is a dark story about choices, faith, money, drugs and power. And about how ultimately you cannot cheat Death. With all that is left of their faith in Saint Death, Arturo and Faustino must risk their lives to replace the money Faustino stole and attempt to break free and cross the border from Mexico to America. Political messages are presented at the end of each chapter which can at times interrupt the storytelling, however, they clearly serve the purpose of highlighting the real life issues that Sedgwick has presented in Arturo's story. The book overall is gritty and realistic. If you are passionate about politics or enjoy a macabre and gruesome story, this is the book for you.
