Salt to the Sea

Salt to the sea is a book set around world war 2 where a group of refugees struggle to get out of the war. It contains the perspective of four characters. The main plot is that in Germany, the Soviet soldiers are advancing, and the civilians have one hope to get out. The book has quite a boring plot in my opinion, and the ending is unclear. I thought the book was unoriginal, and it could have been a little bit more unique. I thought the book did handle the characters well, with quite an interesting cast. The writing was good, but I still think that the lack of originality does not outweigh the good execution. I think the author is quite good on writing, and could do better if they picked more interesting and unique subjects. 6/10.
