Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth

I loved this book! It's described as "A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" for kids, and that hits the nail on the head. "Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth" is a quirky, madcap adventure-comedy, led by an alien dog and a boy living in social care. It touches on issues of loss, homelessness, and dementia in a sensitive and realistic way. However, most of the energy is focused on making readers smile, and that's exactly what I did reading it. Despite having completely ridiculous things happening all around, the story flows smoothly within in its own logic. It's simply a delight.
