The Stars at Oktober Bend
The Stars at Oktober Bend is a great story about a fifteen year old girl named Alice Nightingale who has an acquired brain injury that impacts the way she communicates and thinks. I personally really enjoyed this book and also think that the use of two perspectives, Manny's and Alice's, gives the book a lot more layers. Although the lack of capital letters was frustrating, I believe that it helps demonstrate the different way in which Alice sees the world. In my opinion, this book is very intriguing and unique and I think that it would be enjoyed by most people.
