The Bone Sparrow

At first I really struggled getting into the book, as I just found the narrative a bit dull. However the details and little descriptions throughout the book were superb, as they created this emotive atmosphere. I unfortunately never managed to finish this book and only managed to get half way, due to me really struggling to enjoy the book, as I personally love books with more action and a stronger story line. Although I can understand reasons as to why this book doesn't include as much action compared to other books, as it is set in a Refugee camp. Therefore Zana Fraillon may have done this deliberately to give the reader an insight into what life would be like as a refugee. This is such a unique book and for those who want an insight into the lifestyle and thoughts of a young refugee, you should definitely read this.
