Salt to the Sea

'Salt To The Sea' is a well-written book full of unexpected turns and unique characters to make the story come to life. This book is about a group of characters that are escaping the area as a terrible war has ruined their country. Their only hope is an overflowing boat full of other refugees. The Polish girl, the German, the Doctor and the Soldier all have their own point of view in this story and at first it is very hard to remember where everyone is and who's doing what, but when their paths eventually cross it's a lot easier to get to grips with.
I think people should read this book because it tells you what it actually feels like (SMALL SPOILER) to be trapped on a sinking boat and it gave me chills! I also think people should read this because this is a real event and lots of people died and it needs more recognition.
Overall I give this book 4 stars because it was an enjoyable book and I loved the creativity that went into the characters and effort that went into the writing but it is slightly confusing and it took me a while to enjoy it.
