The Stars at Oktober Bend

This is an interesting and thought-provoking novel, and is well-written in a lyrical poetic style. The basic theme is families supporting each other in difficult times. Sometimes it's a little unbelievable, perhaps a consequence of softening the trauma that the characters have suffered to make it suitable for young readers. The story does have a positive message that love can overcome.

I would recommend The Stars at Oktober Bend to anyone who enjoys descriptive, emotional stories.
