The Stars at Oktober Bend
It took me a while to relate to Alice. This seems appropriate as she was struggling to make herself heard. She used to write little poems and pieces of illustrated prose to explain how she was feeling, Manny a refugee from Sierra Leone first spotted Alice on her roof making paper snow. He was fascinated by her and her writings and he made the effort to become her friend.
This story is poignant, sometimes tragic, sometimes hopeful but very much full of love.
