The Smell of Other People's Houses
'The Smell of Other People's Houses' was a story written during the times of the statehood of Alaska. It tells the lives of a variety of children and how their lives are entwined. One word I would use to describe this novel is: atrocious. I believe that the story line was quite poor and uninteresting. I struggled to pay attention whilst I read this book as I found it so boring and tedious. I also struggled to understand and comprehend some of the aspects of the book. I didn't understand the relationship between the natives and non-natives. Finally, I don't think that the perspectives of all of the characters were portrayed very well because it felt like the same character talking each time.
