Salt to the Sea

Salt to the Sea is an incredibly moving wartime story told through the eyes of Florian,Joana,Emilia and Alfred. The use of different points of view not only creates a layered plot, but also illustrates how many different sides to the story there were in World War II. I really enjoyed the different points of view as it allowed me to see different opinions on situations in the novel. The way the characters evolved throughout the book made it very realistic and also made it easier for me to empathise with them. I would recommend this book to everyone in my year as it is really gripping from the moment you start it and it also makes the trauma of war a lot more understandable.
